MagnetU is the world's first location-based Mobile Social Networking accessory that gives people
the power to match and make new connections with people who are right now close to them - from a very close distance of 1 meter up to potentially hundreds of meters away, whether for making new friends, finding love, date or just meet people who share the same interests. Take your social life out of home environment.
Just imagine you are in a subway, dancing in a bar, walking down the street, outing with your friends or everywhere else in your daily life and you suddenly start getting text messages from someone who can be your soul match and is right now close to you!
How do I get started?
After buying your very own MagnetU, go to www.magnetu.com and define your MagnetU by sharing who you are and what you're looking for. Then simply take your MagnetU with you on your daily activities and let your personal MagnetU works its magic.
I received a HOT message from one woman and another ATTRACTIVE message
from another woman. What is the difference between a HOT and ATTRACTIVE
messages?
First, it looks like you are socially active and that's good. A HOT match message received on your mobile phone means that there is a woman who is physically near you right now, could be 1 meter or potentially hundreds of meters around you who matches many of your preferred criteria. The ATTRACTIVE message indicates there is a woman around you who matches some aspects of your criteria such as gender, age and relationship status. A HOT message indicates a strong match and an ATTRACTIVE message indicates that the match is less strong but is still an interesting one.
Which technology is used to match MagnetU users?
MagnetU incorporates short range wireless technologies and sophisticated patent pending algorithms that enable your MagnetU accessory to hear and know what type of persons the other people in the vicinity like and want to match with. The whole match making process is wirelessly performed through the air where no one can actually see what characteristics the other person is looking for.
So is it a location based server? Is my location known to the cellular operator?
NO. MagnetU is not based on a location based server or GPS. Therefore, the cellular operator or the MagnetU company cannot know or track your location.
What is the active time of a MagnetU product and how can I recharge its battery?
MagnetU is designed to work about 24 hours while switched on. You may want to turn the product off while it's not in use or when you don't want MagnetU to look for potential matches for you.
To recharge MagnetU, simply connect your MagnetU to a PC through a USB cable.
Do I need to inform my MagnetU every time I change my location?
NO. Once you define to your MagnetU who and what you're looking for, MagnetU will start acting as your personal mobile social networking. A kind of your 6th sense that knows who you are, what you are looking for and will make new connections with people who are right now close to you and even around you. You do not need to inform MagnetU of your location. It's simple, turn on your MagnetU if you want to be matched with other MagnetU-type of persons, and turn it off when you want to be alone.
Can people see that I have MagnetU?
It depends on you...
MagnetU is designed to fit even a small pocket. You can hold it in your hand, put it in your pants or shirt pocket, place it in your bag or put it anywhere else. Just keep it a few meters from your mobile phone. MagnetU does not ring or buzz, but you will receive a text message (SMS) when it finds a person who matches your preference. You could be actually dancing in a club when you suddenly receive a match message to your phone and then probably you will start imagine who is the one around you...amazing, right?
Which phones and cellular operators does MagnetU run with?
MagnetU works with all cellular operators and supports Nokia and Sony Ericsson Bluetooth mobile phones produced from 2003. Yes, this represents a growing network of billions of users worldwide.
Do I have to pay a membership fee?
No, there is no membership fee associated with MagnetU. Once your MagnetU finds your soul match, then match messages will be exchanged between you and your matched party. You will receive a text match message from your matched party, to your mobile phone. Your matched party will also automatically receive a text message from your mobile phone.
The text message will include attractive details on the matched party. To establish a contact between matched parties, the text match message will also include the phone number of your soul match party, thus from this point on, what happens next is up to you - you may SMS, talk or meet the chosen other.
The cost of a text match message sent from your mobile phone in the case of a match is exactly the same as that of your normal text message cost. For example, if you regularly pay $0.15 for each text message you send, then a text message in case of a match will also cost $0.15.
I've deleted my MagnetU device from my list of Bluetooth
paired devices on my phone
In order to function properly your MagnetU needs to be paired with your Bluetooth phone, just like any other Bluetooth device. To repair your MagnetU with your Bluetooth phone simply follow the instructions shows below:

Activate Bluetooth on your phone (go to the Bluetooth menu on your phone and activate Bluetooth). |

Switch on your MagnetU. |

Press the pairing button on your MagnetU down for approximately 5 seconds until you see blue & pink lights. You can now release the button. |

On your phone, search for Bluetooth devices within range (in most phones you will need to select "New paired device"). |

You will now receive the list of Bluetooth devices in range: Select either MAGNETUM / MAGNETUS / MAGNETUN. |

Once you see the passkey screen on your phone, type 1234 and click OK/Yes. |

Note: On most phones, you will be asked if you want to allow automatic connections. We recommend that you select YES and make the connection between your MagnetU and your mobile phone automatic as it enables a faster and easier connection between your MagnetU accessory and your phone once you are matched with another MagnetU-type user in your area.
If your phone does not automatically ask you whether you want to approve "automatic connection", we recommend you to go to your list of paired devices on your phone and approve automatic connection for your MagnetU.

I've pressed down MagnetU's pairing button for more than 5 seconds and
entered into pairing mode
This will delete the pairing with your Bluetooth phone. In order to function properly your MagnetU needs to be paired with your Bluetooh phone, just like any other Bluetooth device. To repair your MagnetU with your Bluetooth phone, please follow the instructions shown above.
